Our Story

In 2023 Austin and Lucy were traveling through Peru when the idea of what would become Inti Empire was born. What if the amazing natural fibre of baby alpaca could be used to create something for the outdoors...something for skiers?

We’ve always loved skiing—the early mornings, the long runs, the kind of cold that makes you feel alive. But after too many days dealing with socks that were either too thin, too bulky, or just didn’t stay warm, we knew there was a gap. We wanted something better. Something that felt good from first chair to last lap. Something that would feel comfortable in your boot but also in the apres. However, it couldn't just perform well, it had to look good too. Fashion and function together at once. 

So we built it. 

Inti Empire was created from a simple idea: if you’re going to spend long days in the mountains, your gear should actually keep up and you should look good while doing it.

Inti - Incan Sun God

Our name, Inti Empire, is inspired by Inti—the Incan sun god—representing warmth, energy, and connection to the mountains where alpaca fiber originates. It’s a nod to the heritage behind the material we use and the environment that inspires everything we create.

Why alpaca? What's so special? 

The people of the Andes Mountains have been using alpaca wool for generations because it's the perfect material for the mountains that keeps you comfortable no matter the conditions.

At Inti Empire, we focus on creating high-quality ski socks using premium baby alpaca fiber—one of the softest, warmest, and most breathable natural materials out there. It naturally regulates temperature, wicks moisture, and stays comfortable all day, which makes it ideal for high-performance winter wear.

But materials are only part of it. We pay attention to the details that actually matter when you're on the mountain—fit, durability, and how the sock performs after hours in ski boots. Every pair is designed to feel as good at the end of the day as it did at the start. You won't want to take it off.

We’re not a massive corporation, and we don’t try to be. We are local Utah company that cares about making a product that people genuinely love to wear—whether you're skiing, hiking, or just staying warm through winter.
